Former Denton Ryan QB Rumored to Transfer
Rumor mill around the Texas Tech program is former Denton Ryan Quarterback Scotty Young will not be with the team come spring drills.
Young was considered to be one of Tech's top recruits two years ago after being named a Parade All-American and was listed on Rivals.com top 250 recruits.
North Texas is rumored to be one of the schools he is considering to make a move to. Tech has not given him his release but his expected to be signed in the next few days.
In high school he accounted for 129 touchdowns in his career. In his senior season he threw for 64 touchdowns and 4,467 yards.
Texas Tech Head Coach Tommy Tuberville stated "He felt like going somewhere else he might get on the field a little big sooner."
If he transfers to a division one program he will be required to sit out a year and have two years of eligibility left. He could play for a division two or below and play immediately.
