North Texas Picks up "slippery" Carlos Harris
North Texas picked up a speedy but undersized wide receiver in Carlos Harris, 5-8, 175, 4.4, QB, WR, RB, Ath., Frisco High School, Frisco, Texas. Harris was a two way player in high school. Harris rushed for 1722 yards and 21 touchdowns and is also responsible for three passing touchdowns and a season total of 201 passing yards. He ended the year with 142 receiving yards and two touchdown passes. Breaking it down he accounted for 6.9 total points per game. In spite of his lofty numbers he was on his way to the 2,000 mark but was slowed by an ankle injury.
In a 62-64 loss against Lovejoy, Harris carried the ball 36 times for 446 yards and seven touchdowns. On a two point conversion attempt, Harris was stacked up at the endzone in an effort to tie the game. The result was he was named the Dallas Morning News Player of the week.
On the defensive side of the ball he had 1.3 tackles per game.
