Big Receiver Lancaster Signs with North Texas
He is big, he is fast and he is just what North Texas needed at wide receiver, Life Oak Cliff's wide receiver Roderick Lancaster, 6-2, 200, 4.4, LB, WR.
Life Oak started playing football ten years ago and has played as a 2A Varsity team in 2006. They play in the seven league 2A Region II District 13. This year was the first year they earned a playoff berth and ended their season 6-5. So recruiting around the program is overlooked thus allowing North Texas to get a steal with this player.
Each year Lancaster kept getting better and ended the season with 29 catches for 534 yards and two touchdowns. His senior year he averaged 18 yards a catch, his junior year 15.2 yards a catch and his sophomore year and over 13 yards per catch.
On the defensive side of the ball he was aggressive and near the ball on almost every play.
As a track member he was a three year letterwinner and a state finalist last year on the 4 X 100 relay team.
Lancaster improved his stock by hitting the weight room and attending camps this year. He graded out high in the camps and started to garner attention late. Here is his SPARQ ratings from the NIKE camp held at the Grand Prairie High School. There were 948 prospects in attendance and Lancaster graded out to the #36 spot. In the forty he ran 4.66, SH 4.4 , VJ 35.6, PB 6.39 for a final rating of 101.28. Basically grading out a four star player.
At the UNT's camp he ran 4.4 and 4.5 and Head Coach Dan McCarney knew he wanted Lancaster.
