UALR Wins First on Road Dumps North Texas
It was the first game of Sun Belt play for North Texas and the University of Arkansas-Little Rock. UALR made their way to Denton hoping to end their losing streak on the road this season.
There were eleven NBA scouts in The Super Pit to see the play of Tony Mitchell, they didn’t get to see a lot of him and neither did UALR. He played 13 minutes because of foul trouble and fouled out of the game with 5:05 left in the game.
It was a slow type of game and it affected North Texas. At half the score was UALR 23-19. North Texas fell behind by ten points in the second half but managed to come back to take the lead. It was a close contest then with 6:27 left in the game Kedrick Hogans went out of the game with an injury. A short time later, Mitchell fouled out.
North Texas was able to take the lead but was unable to hold on to it as UALR continued to hit their shots. The game was tied 62-62 with 1:32 left. North Texas scored four points in the last minute but UALR scored seven to take a 69-66 win.
