The Sun Belt's Arkansas State success has caught the attention of the University of Mississippi as the Rebels are expected to offer ASU’s Hugh Freeze the Rebels Head Coaching position. He guided the Red Wolves to a 10-2 record at his first season at the school.

Freeze graduated from Southern Miss and has one of the Golden Eagles best defensive coordinators in its school’s history in Dave Womack on his staff. The defense is one of the reasons ASU has had such a successful season this year.

Reports are present Southern Miss Coach Larry Fedora was the main candidate for the position but he turned down the offer. Southern Miss blew away Houston in the Conference-USA Championship and Ole Miss is still trying to get him to put on the Blue and Red.
