North Texas is in a battle for Lutcher High, Lutcher, La. running back Daniel "Too Small" Taylor, 5'8," 170. Taylor has garnered a dozen or so offers including North Texas and other Sun Belt Schools. Lutcher 12-1, 6-0, a 4-A school, is led by Head Coach Tim Detillier who has compiled a 180-76-0 record since 1991. This year he has his team ranked #4 in Louisiana and courtesy Lemminghas taken his teams to state titles in 2003, 2006 and 2008. So the coach knows talent when he sees it and Taylor is a talent.

The lone loss this year was in the opening game of the season against Dutchtown losing 8-32. Lutcher is in the middle of a run for the state title and will take on Karr this Friday.

Taylor is considered a scat back from his style but he is more than that. He has a knack to see the correct hole and has the speed to pour it on after he hits the hole.He does not give tacklers a good angle to tackle him.He has soft hands and can catch the ball in space. The majority of his touchdowns have not come from inside the twenty but rather long runs from outside the twenty. He holds Lutcher's all-time rushing yard record.Not impressed? In his junior year he broke the all-time all purpose yard record and the all time touchdown record. So every time he touches the ball he sets the standard for rushing, all purpose and touchdown records.

"Too Small" is rushing for 154 yards a game which is over half the 278.8 total rushing yards the team produces per game. He has tallied 2,047 yards this season and on 213 which averages 9.61 yards per touch. His longest run went for 92 yards.

Taylor accounts for over 1/3 of the total points per game, contributing 11.8 points of the 39.1 the
Rivals.com has his as their #13 All-Purpose back in the nation and #19 best prospect in Louisiana. Scout.com has Taylor as the #75 best prospect in the nation.Tom Lemming scores him #23 RB in the nation.
