Season Basketball Ticket Sales Slated

Next season Head Basketball Coach Johnny Jones will be welcoming back the majority of his NCAA Tournament and Sun Belt Conference Champions Basketball team. Excitement is beginning to grow for the North Texas program as Jones has put together a staff that has an eye for talent, has been able to get the talent to head to Denton and has gotten the players to believe in his system.

The result has been two NCAA tournament bids, four straight 20 win seasons and two Sun Belt Titles.

With eight seniors on the team coupled with this year’s recruiting class it looks like the winning will continue this year and the team will go deeper into the NCAA Tournament.

North Texas Fans will be able to show their support of the program beginning June 23rd when season ticket renewals are expected to begin with the end slated for July 14th. Fans are encouraged to renew their tickets for several reasons.

Ticket sales are one of the factors considered by the NCAA for March Madness and seeding in the tournament. The more ticket sales the better competition can be brought into the Super Pit. Better teams are not interested in playing in partially empty coliseums. With conference realignment on the horizon, basketball ticket sales could mean the inclusion into a better conference even if other sports are average.

Season tickets holders get first shot at any NCAA post season play.

Finally, there is more money to be made in basketball through the NCAA Tournament then all the other sports combined.

It all means more money available to keep Jones at North Texas.

A lot of successful programs are the result of fans and businesses purchasing extra season passes to give to their favorite customers or to invite friends out for an exciting game of basketball.

New season tickets sales are expected to open to the public sometime around September or October.
