Another Lon Morris Player on the Horizon?
North Texas Head Basketball Coach Johnny Jones is looking around for future players for his NCAA Tournament Basketball team. This time he apparently is looking around in the direction of Jacksonville, Texas and Lon Morris College. He was already successful in signing a star forward from there but this time it looks like he is considering a guard named Jorge Redmon, G, 5-10, 180.
Redmon
played his high school career at Arlington’s Sam Houston High School where he poured in 15.2 points a game for a total of 411 points on the season ranking him #3 in class 8-5A. He ended up #12 in assists with a total of 65 on the season or 2.4 a game and he held down the #9 slot in three points shot hitting a season total of 23 or .9 a game.
Last year as a freshman at Lon Morris, the guard played in 12 games scoring 187 points for the season or 15.583 points a game.
Scoring is not his only skill; he was ranked #4 in assists in Junior College Region 14. Last season he had 51 total assists averaging 4.250 a game.
Redmon also had a total of 21 steals on the season or 1.750 per game putting him in the #8 spot.
For his play he was selected 2nd team All-Conference.
Lon Morris Head Basketball Coach Dale Dotson called him “a very special player” with "some very special skills."
He has played for the G2S Magic Elite 17’s in the off-season
