North Texas scores several players on NCAA list

North Texas had several players on the NCAA offensive stats list for last season. Leading the Eagles was Sophomore Running Back Lance Dunbar who ended the season ranked #14 in total rushing yards. In 12 games he carried the ball for 200 times netting 1,378 total rushing yards. That comes out to 6.89 yards a carry or 114.83 yards per game.

Dunbar held down the #28 spot in all-purpose yards with 144.58 total yards a game.

Finally, he is tied at the #8 spot in scoring with 9.5 points a game. In total points for the season he was tied with several players at #63.

Freshman Quarterback Riley Dodge ended up at the #63 slot in the NCAA records in passing yards. In ten games, he completed 205 of 303 attempts for an average completion rate of 67.66%. He had 15 interceptions to nine touchdowns. Dodge completed 20.50 passes per game for an average of 9.639 yards per attempt.  For the season he had a total of 1,975 total yards or 197.50 yards per game. As far as quarterback rating was concerned, he held down the #78 slot with a 122.31 rating. He accounted for 243.80 total yards a game which put him at #38. The 9.5 points per game he was responsible for put him at the #92 position.

North Texas wide receiver corps of Jamaal Jackson and Darius Carey both ended up ranked in the NCAA in receptions per game.  Jackson, a junior, in 12 games, caught 71 balls, for 701 total yards and six touchdowns. He averaged 5.92 catches per game with an average of 9.87 yards per catch. Per game he recorded 58.42 total yards. He was also at the #89 spot averaging yards per game and the 701 total receiving yards put him at the #99 position.

Carey brought in 57 catches for the year for a total of 509 total yards and four touchdowns. Per game he got 4.75 catches for an average of 8.93 yards a catch for a 42.42 total yards a game. That ranks him in the top 100.
