We're going to leave it all on the floor

With the campus on spring break, a small but enthusiastic North Texas crowd cheered on Head Coach Johnny Jones and the rest of the Mean Green Basketball team as they boarded the bus on their way to do battle with Kansas State University in the first round of the NCAA Basketball Tournament at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City, OK.

 

Jones told the crowd the team was going to “leave it all on the floor” and hopefully when they return there will be “something to celebrate.”

 

While Jones has said “we are blessed to be here” it was morelike early morning practices and hard work by the team along with late nights by coaches getting prepared for the next opponent that got UNT into the Big Dance.

 

All 550 tickets allotted by the NCAA were sold by North Texas but tickets are still available through other sources. Unfortunately, it might not be with the rest of the Eagle Nation.

 

According to President Obama, KSU will be the winner of the game and play in the final four.

 

The team will be practicing on Wednesday, March 17th at the Ford Center.The practice is open to the public. Doors will open 11:00 a.m. with North Texas practice time slated for 12:45 P.M.

 

For those that would like to get a sneak peek of the teams,here are the open practice times for each team. At 12:00 p.m. –Florida, 12:45 p.m. - North Texas, 1:30 p.m. – BYU, 2:15 p.m. – Kansas State,4:25 p. m – UNLV, 5:10 p.m. – Kansas, 5:55 p.m. - Northern Iowa and at 6:40p.m. – Lehigh.

 

North Texas (24-8) is taking on Kansas State (26-7) with tip-off projected to begin around 1:50 P.M. However, the actual time is 30 minutes after the finish of the BYU (29-5), Florida (21-12) contest which is to begin 11:20 A.M.
