UNT now awaits to see where they play

When the sun came up today, it was smiling on the North Texas Basketball Program. As the second season begins, the Mean Green knows it is in the big dance.  There are between 30 to 60 teams waiting for the NCAA’s announcement to see if they are in the NCAA or going elsewhere.

North Texas Coach Johnny Jones will be watching the television with the team along with the rest of the Mean Green nation to see where and who they will be facing.

Jones is hoping the team will be playing at either Oklahoma State or New Orleans because it is close by and he wants the fans be able to “support the team” by driving to see the team play. Both sites will be played Thursday, March 18th along with San Jose, Ca and Providence RI.

This time of the season, it is all about guard play and North Texas does have a couple that can play with the best of them. Josh White is the little guy that seems to come alive halfway through the second half.  When Tristan Thompson and Mangrum Collin are on their game, UNT can make some noise. If they don’t it could easily be a one and done situation.

George Odufuwa needs to play up to his standards of rebounding because North Texas is going to need every chance to score and prevent the opponents from getting second chances.

Forward Eric Tramiel will have surpass his Sun Belt MVP play in order to keep UNT in the tournament.

Depending on whom North Texas will play in the first round game, the Mean Green will find the deeper they get into the tournament, they will find each game they will have a bigger height disadvantage. To overcome this, they will have to play almost flawless ball.

Can it be done, definitely yes.
